Paeonia Designs was a floral startup company focused on event design. We began the process with Paeonia as we do with most clients, focusing on the logo. The name of the company stems from the peony, a flowering plant in the genus paeonia, and also happens to be one of the owner’s favorite flowers. To incorporate this into the brand, we illustrated a simple and stylized depiction of a peony, that can be visually identified at any size. A serifed font was chosen to contrast the organic form of the flower and made green to balance out the colors as well as make the visual representation of the stem. This concept was chosen to subtly suggest that Paeonia is responsible for the arrangements, but it’s the flowers that demand the attention.
Our next step with Paeonia Designs was to carry the brand elements into a website. The owner wanted a simple interface that was easily navigable as well as aesthetically pleasing. Again, choosing to let the flowers demand the most attention, we used photography to help show potential customers what Paeonia is capable of. The site was developed using responsive web design, so it would look good regardless of the device accessing it.
We’ve also worked with Paeonia Designs on a collection of collateral pieces, including business cards, table displays and other promotional material. Each piece is designed to carry the brand identity of Paeonia and works in conjunction with each other to strengthen the overall visual identity of the business. This consistency builds brand familiarity and allows potentially clients to easily identify the company that it represents without examining the collateral content.
