Why We've Sucked At This

I’ve always struggled with what to do with this space. For the 6+ years we’ve been doing business as Hunchback Graphics, I’ve painstakingly only wanted to show the prettiest parts of our portfolio. The finished pieces that we get to show off. The artworks that are being implemented in the real world. However, as I look back at the scarcity of our posts, I realize there are far more real things happening that are going unsaid.

It isn’t easy running a startup design firm. I never thought it would be. However I did think we would be growing a lot faster than we have been. This is my fault. Because in the constant struggle to only show the pristine projects, I’ve lost the connection to you, our audience. We became a faceless design firm, operated by what appears to be robot replications of Dan and I. This couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Dan and I started Hunchback Graphics because we wanted to help our clients do better. Whether that’s with upgrading their branding elements, setting them up with responsive web design that looks as good on a computer as it does a phone, or enhancing their social media pages by carrying a consistent look across platforms, we’ve been improving our skills. Since our first day, we’ve learned boatloads about how companies are engaging their audiences and communicating their message using bold and clear design.

So, what does this mean to you? Well it means we’re pulling back the curtain. Good bye “Hunchback Hits” mentality. Hello real talk, consistent postings, and way more goodness from your friendly, neighborhood hunchbacked (well one of them at least) designers.

Does this sound as good to you as it does to me?
